I love trying new things and keeping traditions alive, but it becomes harder and harder the older I get. Births, weddings, birthdays, holidays. There's always something to do. And I'm so happy to be back on the East Coast where I can participate in so many more activities than I could while I was living in San Diego. But I don't want to lose sight of all the stuff that I want to do for me. You know, to do things that make just me happy :)
Moving also made me realize how many things I had on my San Diego to-see list that I missed out on. How many times can I say "I'll have to do that next year"? Too many times. So many times that I never got to do some of the things I really wanted to during my four-year stint out west. And, yes, I love leaving a city (whether from a long- or short-term "visit") with wanting to do more. It makes me feel like I'll return quicker. But I also don't want to live life thinking I should be doing something else, that I'm missing out on something else. Does that make sense? I want to find that balance between living in the moment and living in the future. So here is my list of things that I'd like to do this spring in Maryland. I made this last week before Easter, but I think they all still apply
for what I'd like to accomplish this spring. If it falls into summer,
that's OK too. I just want to make sure that I don't keep letting things slide.
